Born in Tehran, Iran, Bahareh Komai's interest in playing piano began at the age of 7, being trained by Dr. Mehran Rouhani (post graduate from Royal Academy of Music) and later by Mrs Shahla Ebrahimi.
In pursuing continuous improvement and excellence she continued her professional education by working with one of the renowned piano teachers of Tehran , Mrs Haynoush Makarian (graduate from munich hochschule fur Musik) and has also attended Masterclasses by Prof Gerhard Geretchlaeger (of conservatory of Vienna).
She had her first public performance at the age of 12 and since then has given numerous well received concerts in Iran and Europe ,performing a vast repertory from Baroque to contemporary Music.
Following obtaining her Master of Science degree in Microbiology she pursued her love for classical music and piano by getting a Master degree in Professional Piano playing from Ministry of Science and Art of Iran.
In 2003 she teamed up with Mr Safa Shahidi (Iranian wellknown pianist and composer) to found a two piano ensemble which was the first and only two piano ensemble in Iran.Together they have successfully played most of the two piano pieces (among them Tchaikowsky Nutcracker, Arenski Suite no 1, Rachmaninov Russian Rhapsody, Mozart sonata for two pianos, Lutoslawsky Paganini variations and .....).
She has been touring in Greece and joined Mrs Joula Zougrafou (of conservatory of Athens) to perform two piano and solo concerts in several cities, playing classical as well as Persian and Greek contemporary Music.
Through the last 20 years, her devotion to playing piano has led her to encouraging , training and educating the next generation of pianists in Iran, which due to her efforts some them have continued in Vienna Conservatory, Vienna University of Art, Prayner Conservatory, ....
She is the Leading female classical pianist in Iran who is also respected in Europe.
